KAIDENG K70C Sky Warrior Quadcopter. Kaideng a toy RC car and heli manufacturer is joining the quadcopter arena, entering the market place with a retractable camera holder on a sporty quadcopter.

The HD Camera included is a 2MP camera. It allows you to take photos and videos. We put it to a test and the footages can be seen on the video above. First impression, we don’t see any practical use of the retracting camera holder as it does not really protect a camera from rough landing, neither does it function as a gimbal. However, after flying the Sky Warrior and experiencing what it does, we can say that the retractable holder can be used as a means to point the camera at an angle where you want your video or photo to face. We like that you can remotely start recording and stop recording. The Camera at 720p is nothing compared to a Keychain #16, the quality is not that great. The stock camera can be replaced with a different camera, such as a GoPro or Git2.

One press automatic return without GPS usually don’t work too well, but it is suppose to ensure that you can call back your quadcopter without any delay. We will have to put it to a test.

What To Expect If This Your First you can easily spend 15 minutes on each flight, setting up and flying. The actual flight may last 9-10 minutes. On a Mode 2 radio transmitter, throttle stick is on the left.
The Sky Warrior uses a 2s LiPo with 3.5mm banana plug, however it has two male pins, unusual, instead of standard banana plug.

The propeller installation would have been very easy if they were well documented and if the diagrams were more specific. The propellers are lock into place with an intricate system of iron pins and lockstitch as shown at the second half of the video. Here are the steps. Insert the correct propeller into the pipe, place the washer in, add the transparent looking lockstitch with the notch on top, rotate it to align the notch to the pin hole. Insert the iron pin. Rotate the lockstitch inside 90 degrees clockwise until you hear a click that locks the pin. Cover the propeller with a prop nut. A lot of fuss, but still a genious engineering piece of work.

The propellers are labeled A and B, but KD had forgotten to show them on their user manual diagrams. We updated their diagram below here. For a typical quadcopter, counter-rotating propellers are used. The blades angle bends high against the air flow and flow low outwards, giving that lift. So you have to determine which way it spins. Spinning clockwise front left and rear right. Anti-clockwise on the other 2 props. So in this case, the A are placed on the front left and rear right. B on the front right, and rear left. Placing the propeller reverse, the trust will be down, so your quad will not take-off no matter how much you throttle up

The Sky Warrior is easy to fly and flies well even with the camera. It does a nice turn at a constant speed. However we notice it loses altitude quickly when you throttle down and is slow to recover, that can be due to the extra weight when flying with a camera.

If you thinking of buying a small 50 cm quadcopter without GPS around the price of $80, there are quite a few choices in the market and we can say this will fall among those recommended. It is light, so it does not break on a hard landing. The only concern we have is we can either buy more of the same battery or have to change the power connector.
